Roots & Wings Initiative

Our Roots & Wings Initiative is our way of giving back to the dogs who need a little extra help finding their place in the world. The “roots” are the foundation — safety, consistency, nourishment, and the kind of steady care that helps a dog feel grounded again. The “wings” are the hope and freedom that come next — the confidence to move forward, the chance at a new beginning, and sometimes the final release with dignity.

Through this program, we donate a portion of our time, space, and resources to local shelter dogs who could benefit from a quiet, natural setting and individualized attention. Some need a safe spot to decompress, some need confidence-building enrichment, some need a place to heal and be medically supported, and some just deserve the warmth of belonging before they say goodbye. Our 35 acres of woods, fields, and trails give these dogs room to breathe, explore, and rediscover joy at their own pace.

By choosing to board with us, you’re not only giving your own dog a comfortable, personalized retreat, you’re also helping make this work possible. Every stay directly supports our ability to offer a discounted rate of $40/day to shelter dogs, helping to provide the roots they need to heal and the wings they need for the next chapter of their journey. If you feel called to give more, you can support the mission in whatever way feels right: by adding a small donation when you board, sponsoring a shelter dog’s overnight stay, contributing supplies like blankets, towels, toys, or food, or simply helping us share the stories of dogs searching for their forever homes on social media. Every bit of support helps us give comfort and care to dogs in need. Please note that we are not a non-profit organization, and contributions are not tax-deductible, but they truly make a meaningful impact.
